Tango is a free messaging and video calling app that allows you to stay in touch with family and friends. Tango works on smartphones and tablets and has over 350 million members around the world.

Sharing an intimate moment from across the world

The Content Sharing feature allows Tango members to share photos inline during a video call. Also, members can interact with photos to help create a more human engagement. 

At the time this feature was released, there was no mobile experience like it. We wanted to bring long-distance relationships closer with the idea of sharing your memories live while on a video call. Before this, photos were shared in a linear fashion through SMS messaging. With content sharing, members can share photos, interact, and communicate in real-time. 

We took the idea further by allowing members to see each others' faces while viewing and interacting with the photos. The idea was inspired by Facebook's "Chat Heads" which was just released at the time.
